CalQualityCare.org offers performance data and ratings for a variety of California long term care provider types, such as nursing homes, home health care, hospice, and intermediate care facilities for the developmentally disabled. On these pages you can learn where the data come from and how the ratings were developed.
Each health care provider type is licensed and regulated differently. Therefore the data we are able to provide varies greatly — from the type of measure (such as hospital readmission rates) to the periodicity (hospice programs are reviewed every three years).
CalQualityCare.org is updated regularly to use the most recent data available. However it is important that consumers pay attention to how old that data may be. The date period when the data were collected can be seen in the “more information” popup boxes next to the data on each provider’s profile page (represented by a question mark button).
